Our foresters hold degrees in forest management and wildlife management, and maintain Society of American Foresters’ Certified Forester credentials. We are actively involved in a wide range of professional and trade organizations, including the Society of American Foresters, New York Tree Farm, and the Empire State Forest Products Association.
RPF, VP Forestry and Wood Procurment
Mr. McLarty oversees Finch Forest Management and its staff of professional foresters. He is a registered professional forester from Northwest Ontario with more than 15 years of experience in the forest industry, and experience in strategic, long-term timber harvest planning, regeneration and silviculture programs. Mr. McLarty earned a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in forestry from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in 1999. Mr. McLarty also is a board member and the Vice Chair of the Empire State Forest Products Association, and sits on Paul Smith’s School of Natural Resource Management and Ecology Dean’s Leadership Council.
CCF, Field Forester
Mr. Sullivan joined the Finch Forest Management team in March of 2014. He is responsible for field supervision of harvesting crews as well as management and consultation for small landowners and their forest properties. Additionally, he is responsible for the maintenance of Finch Forest Management’s GIS database. Mr. Sullivan earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in forest technology from the SUNY ESF Ranger School in Wanakena, NY, in 2009. In 2010, Mr. Sullivan earned a Bachelor of Science in forest ecosystem science from SUNY ESF in Syracuse, NY.
CF, Regional Forest Manager
Mr. Cronin has been responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Finch Forest Management field operations since 2001. He joined Finch in 1986 as a District Forester, and has held positions as Forest Supervisor and Forest Manager. Mr. Cronin earned a Bachelor of Science in forest management from the University of Vermont (UVM) School of Natural Resources in 1981, after earning his Associate in Applied Science degree in pre-professional forestry from Paul Smith’s College of Arts and Sciences in upstate New York.
Ms. Trybendis handles all the economic aspects of the Woodlands office. She graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in business economics. Ms. Trybendis joined Finch’s accounting team in 2009.
