Floorperson/fifth hand (machine room)-hourly position-$24.77/hr

Full-time hourly, benefited position; responsibilities include housekeeping on and around paper machines, as well as any other duties assigned; learn responsibilities of 5th hand (entry level position), which include when necessary, assisting with the operation of hoists and the operation of winders; must possess solid initiative, with the ability to be self-directed and have the capability to perform as a solid team player; perform work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company guidelines and standards; rotating shifts: 7:00am-7:00pm and 7:00pm-7:00am. Previous industrial machine operation experience within a manufacturing industry preferred; availability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment required; HS Diploma or equivalent required.


Process control drives engineer

Finch Paper LLC is currently seeking applicants for a Process Control Engineer position. Essential functions include the installment, servicing and maintaining of various electrical and instrumentation systems and components; calibrate, troubleshoot, install instrument loops; preventive maintenance and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) programming. Requirements include understanding of process controls. Must have DCS experience, programmable logic controllers (PLC), specifically Rockwell, AB and Honeywell; hydraulics, pneumatics and basic computer skills; Allen Bradley PLC/Drive programming experience or training. A demonstrated technical understanding of Power, Recovery and Energy along with demonstrated operational experience with plant equipment and operational systems strongly preferred. Ability to interpret Electrical Prints for industrial control schemes. Other essential functions include but are not limited to providing leadership and guidance to crew members while promoting employee involvement and participation in problem solving and continuous improvement. Candidates should possess a strong mechanical aptitude. Mathematical proficiency, troubleshooting, computerization skills, along with critical thinking and problem solving skills are a must. Ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and 3+ years of experience in an Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing environment, preferably in the Pulp and Paper Industry. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an industrial controls technician/electrician desired. A High School Diploma or GED with formal advanced training (trade school) and equivalent work experience will also be considered.

product development engineer

Responsible for commercializing specialty paper products and or enhancements to existing Finch grades and processes; takes new product ideas (generated by Sales, through customer interaction, etc.) through the product development process to commercialization in a timely manner that optimizes material and manufacturing costs; evaluates feasibility and profitability of new product opportunities; plans and conducts manufacturing trials; works closely with Manufacturing in process improvement, cost reduction and quality improvement projects related to specialty and development grades. Bachelors Degree in Pulp and Paper or Chemical Engineering required with 5+ years (preferred) of relative work/leadership experience in the Paper Manufacturing Industry.


journeyman pipefitter

Full-time, benefited position; responsibilities include responding to mechanical maintenance needs throughout the facility, including the ability to layout, assemble, fabricate and maintain piping systems, as well as perform diagnostics and make repairs; replace piping and tubing in kind (ie: remove old piping/tubing and replace with new of same materials/fittings/routing); cut pipe threads using hand and powered tools; fit welded pipe; bend tubing. Knowledge and ability to perform welding and/or millwright duties is a strongly desired. Candidates must possess solid initiative, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team; perform work in a safe manner in accordance with company guidelines and standards; be willing to work rotating shifts as needed in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Rate of pay is $30.74/hour; union membership upon successful completion of probation. Previous experience working in a 24/7 industrial setting preferred; availability to work rotating shifts required. A Post-Secondary Degree in a related field or formal advanced training (trade school) received is desired/High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 


JOURNEYMAN MILLWRIGHT

Full-time, benefited position; responsibilities include responding to mechanical maintenance needs throughout the facility, including the ability to perform diagnostics and make repairs; performing rigging operations; dismounting and mounting bearings, including taper bore bearings; rebuilding pumps, including the installation of mechanical seals; rebuilding and changing paper machine rolls; aligning shafts and couplings; disassembling and repairing various speed reducers. Candidates must possess solid initiative, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team; perform work in a safe manner in accordance with company guidelines and standards; be willing to work rotating shifts as needed in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Rate of pay is $30.74/hour; union membership upon successful completion of probation. Previous experience working in a 24/7 industrial setting preferred; availability to work rotating shifts required. A Post-Secondary Degree in a related field or formal advanced training (trade school) received is desired/High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.


MACHINIST

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments; may also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures; using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders; study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances; confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information; design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.

Shift work. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and three to five years experience as journeyman electrician or electrical/instrument technician in an industrial maintenance environment. Rate of pay is $31.04/hour. Military training/experience and/or new construction experience will be considered in lieu of industrial experience. Preference will be given to individuals with formal advanced training, paper/pulp mill experience, experience with power distribution systems, distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
